Ethics & Policies

The International Journal of Economic Practices and Theories (IJEPT) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and academic honesty in all aspects of its publication process. This Ethics & Policies page outlines the responsibilities of authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher in ensuring ethical publishing practices.

1. Editorial Responsibilities

  • All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process.

  • Editors make decisions solely based on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance.

  • Confidentiality is strictly maintained throughout the review and publication process.

  • Editors will act on suspected ethical misconduct and take corrective action when needed, including issuing corrections, retractions, or editorial notes.

2. Author Responsibilities

  • Originality: Authors must submit original work that has not been published or is under consideration elsewhere.

  • Plagiarism: Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is unacceptable. Manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools.

  • Authorship: All individuals listed as authors must have made significant contributions to the work. Others should be acknowledged appropriately.

  • Data Integrity: Authors must ensure the accuracy of data and provide access to datasets if requested for verification.

  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence the research.

  • Ethical Approvals: Research involving human subjects must include a statement of ethical approval and informed consent, where applicable.

3. Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts fairly, objectively, and confidentially.

  • Any conflict of interest must be declared to the editor.

  • Reviewers should provide constructive feedback and avoid personal or biased comments.

  • Reviewers must not use any part of the manuscript for personal advantage.

4. Publishing Ethics

IJEPT adheres to the principles of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). Cases of misconduct such as data fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical research practices will be investigated and may result in:

  • Rejection of the manuscript

  • Retraction of the published article

  • Notification to the author’s institution or funding agency

  • Banning of authors from future submissions

5. Open Access Policy

IJEPT is an open-access journal, ensuring that all published articles are freely accessible to readers worldwide without subscription or paywall. Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0), allowing unrestricted reuse with proper citation.

6. Corrections and Retractions

In the event of errors, misconduct, or other issues affecting the integrity of the published work, IJEPT may issue:

  • Errata (for minor corrections)

  • Corrigenda (for author-initiated corrections)

  • Retractions (for major errors or ethical violations)

All such notices will be clearly linked to the original article.

7. Archiving and Preservation

IJEPT ensures the long-term digital preservation of published content.

8. Privacy Statement

Personal information collected during the submission or publication process (names, emails, affiliations) will only be used for the stated purposes of the journal and will not be shared with third parties without consent.

9. Policy on AI and Automated Tools

Authors must disclose any use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, image generation) in the creation of content. AI tools must not be listed as authors. Final responsibility for the integrity and originality of submitted work rests with human authors.
