Abstract

Digital transformation has emerged as a critical organizational priority, reshaping work processes, employee roles, and performance expectations. However, the successful implementation of digital transformation depends not only on technological infrastructure but also on employees’ readiness and ability to use digital technologies effectively. The present study examines the relationship between digital transformation readiness and employee performance, with particular emphasis on the mediating role of digital skills. The study proposes that organizational readiness for digital transformation, reflected through technological preparedness, organizational support, leadership commitment, and employee adaptability, can contribute to improved employee performance. Digital skills are considered an important mechanism through which digital transformation readiness may influence employees’ ability to perform their tasks efficiently, adapt to technological changes, and achieve organizational objectives. The study adopts a quantitative research approach and proposes the collection of primary data from employees working in organizations undergoing digital transformation. Data may be analyzed using descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation, regression, and mediation analysis to examine the proposed relationships. The study is expected to provide insights into how organizations can strengthen employee capabilities while implementing digital transformation initiatives. The findings may assist managers and HR professionals in designing targeted digital-skilling, training, and organizational-support initiatives to enhance employee performance and facilitate successful digital transformation.
