Abstract

All India Radio (AIR), established in 1936, has played a pivotal role in shaping the media landscape in India, particularly in the dissemination of news and information. This study examines the evolution of AIR’s news services, exploring how its programming has adapted to the changing political, social, and technological contexts of the country. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the research analyses archival materials, policy documents, and contemporary broadcasts, providing insights into the operational frameworks that guide news content at AIR.
