A Study on Community Participation and its Impact on Recycling Behaviour in the ‘Trash‑To‑Treasure Challenge’ Under the Swachh India and Green India Mission

Abstract
This study examines the role of community participation in promoting recycling behaviour through the Trash-to-Treasure Challenge under the Swachh India and Green India initiatives. Using primary data collected from 151 respondents, the study analyzes the relationship between awareness, availability of recycling facilities, and participation in recycling activities. The findings reveal that awareness and access to waste management infrastructure significantly influence participation, while gender does not show a significant impact. The study highlights the importance of awareness campaigns and improved waste management facilities to strengthen community engagement in sustainable environmental practices.
