Main Article Content
Abstract
Employee retention has become one of the most significant challenges for organizations operating in the Information Technology (IT) sector, particularly during periods of economic uncertainty, technological disruption, organizational restructuring, and changing workforce expectations. Strategic Human Resource (HR) practices play a vital role in fostering employee commitment, enhancing job satisfaction, and reducing voluntary turnover by creating a supportive and resilient work environment. This study investigates the influence of strategic HR practices on employee retention in IT organizations located in the National Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi during turbulent situations. Specifically, the study examines key HR practices, including recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, compensation and rewards, employee engagement, career development, work–life balance, and leadership support, and their relationship with employees' intention to remain with their organizations. The study adopts a quantitative research approach using structured questionnaires administered to employees working in selected IT organizations across NCR Delhi. The collected data are intended to be analyzed using appropriate statistical techniques to evaluate the relationship between strategic HR practices and employee retention. The findings are expected to provide empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of strategic HR initiatives in improving employee retention during periods of organizational uncertainty and external disruptions.
